Ordinarilyniki is a blog that I’ve set up to help me document some lifestyle changes. About a year ago I decided that I wasn’t spending enough time on me. I had a “to-do” list at home and at work and I started to feel like I wasn’t doing anything for me.
So I decided to do something…
Firstly, I started yoga (which I absolutely love!) to give me space and time to focus on just me. Now, even after a year I still can’t touch my toes… but I am in a much better head space because of it.
Secondly, my new years resolution was to make ‘better eating decisions’. Trust me, I am terrible at diets or strict exercise regimes because simply put a) I have a sweet tooth and b) I really enjoy sleeping. But, I wasn’t feeling myself and I could really tell when I wasn’t eating the right food. I’d fall asleep on the sofa after work and dread getting up in the morning. Something needed to change.
So how was I going to do this? Well, I continue to do yoga on a weekly basis and I’ve started to slowly introduce ‘healthy food’. I follow some amazing people online for yoga and food and they are helping me to understand how best to choose what’s right for me.
I suppose there should be a ‘thirdly’ here too… So I’ll just add in a little bit about the fact that I do try and grow my own veggies with my boyfriend. But we live in London so usually end up growing chillis, onions, tomatoes and leafy goodness like mint and lemon balm. These may creep up in a post or two.
This isn’t going to change your life…
I am in no way saying that this blog is going to change your life, it probably won’t. But as I said, I’m doing this for me. This is a blog about my attempt to change something in me for the better and if you like it, great. If you don’t, that’s okay too.
I love photography so I’ll be adding some of my own photographs to this blog to help capture the moments.
So there you have it. As the blog suggests, this is pretty ordinary, I’m pretty ordinary. I’m Ordinarilyniki.
